An Immersive Cultural Experience
Wang Xiaozhou, a representative from the China Cultural Center, introduced students to some of Xi’an’s most famous archaeological finds, including bronze chariots, pottery horses, and the Xun—an ancient wind instrument made of clay. The students actively engaged in the session, answering questions and even trying out the Xun themselves, blending fun with education.

A Family Passion for Chinese Culture
Among the eager participants was six-year-old Matilda Metsola, who has been studying Chinese for more than two years. Her mother, Liesbeth Oost Metsola, shared how Matilda’s love for the language has inspired her younger siblings to learn Chinese too, turning it into a shared family passion.
Promoting Cultural Exchange Through Education
Chen Juheng, head of the Malta Chinese School, highlighted how events like this spark curiosity and deepen students’ appreciation of Chinese civilization. Yuan Yuan, director of the China Cultural Center in Malta, added that more such initiatives are planned to continue strengthening the cultural bridge between China and Malta
