Tibetan Thangka Art Exhibition Opens in Malta to Celebrate Tibet’s Heritage
On August 20, a Tibetan Thangka art exhibition titled “China’s Tibet, Tashi Delek” opened in Malta to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Tibet’s peaceful liberation. Jointly hosted by the China Cultural Centre in Malta and the Cultural Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the exhibition features around 20 selected Thangka artworks from various schools, including the Qi Wu Gang and Mian Tang Schools. Known for their rich symbolism, vivid colors, and delicate details, these traditional Buddhist paintings on cotton or silk highlight the artistic wisdom and cultural charm of the Tibetan people.

Promoting Cultural Exchange Through Tibetan Art and Heritage
The exhibition serves as a bridge connecting art enthusiasts from China and Malta, fostering cultural exchange and cooperation, according to Jinmei Wangcuo, director of the Cultural Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Running until October 6, the event also features Tibetan landscapes and travel videos that offer insights into Tibetan culture, customs, and the history and techniques behind Thangka art. As part of a series of events celebrating the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, this exhibition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to experience and appreciate the profound heritage of Tibetan artistry.
