A new book, “China in Maltese Eyes,” was jointly launched by Heritage Malta and the China Cultural Center in Valletta, marking a two-year collaborative effort. The publication compiles the insights of over 20 Maltese contributors—from diverse backgrounds—who detail their personal encounters with China’s profound culture, history, stunning natural beauty, and rapid modernization.
Peng Yijun, charge d’affaires at the Chinese Embassy, called the book “a testament to the collective wisdom of all its contributors,” showcasing the enduring friendship between the two countries. Highlighting the collaborative success, Arts Council Malta Chairman Albert Marshall, inspired to write poetry after a 2019 visit, noted the book demonstrates how “international relations can be fortified through culture.” Heritage Malta Chairman Mario Cutajar and China Cultural Center Director Yuan Yuan both affirmed that the publication serves as a new chapter in their long-standing commitment to building a cultural “bridge” between the Maltese and Chinese people.
