Photo Exhibition Celebrates 45 Years of China-Malta Friendship
A photo exhibition titled 45 Years Malta – China is currently taking place on the island of Gozo, Malta, commemorating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The exhibition features 31 carefully selected images that capture significant historical moments, economic milestones, and cultural achievements spanning over four decades. Chinese Ambassador to Malta, Jiang Jiang, emphasized that the exhibition reflects many important chapters in the shared history between China and Malta.

Looking Forward: Strengthening Cooperation and Cultural Exchange
Looking ahead, Ambassador Jiang highlighted China’s intention to deepen cooperation with Malta through initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative. Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana expressed optimism about future collaboration, especially in protecting historical heritage. Despite the geographic distance, China and Malta share rich histories and vibrant cultures, with friendly exchanges dating back centuries. Regular cultural interactions in recent years have further strengthened mutual understanding, notably with Malta becoming a founding European member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in 2015, reflecting growing economic and diplomatic ties.
